You have found yourself suddenly reading this blog.

What you demand is something phenomenal right now that will make this worth your while.

I understand that.

You have clicked on to this page out of a gazillion pages.

You have earned the right to demand something immediately.

And I am about to give you that.

But you have already learned your first lesson in copywriting. That you and everyone out there including myself has the patience of a new born child screaming for a drop of milk.

So please bare that in mind.

Trying to be clever does not work. Trying to draw people in with clever words ignoring the fact that they have incredibly busy lives with more content than anyone could ever ask for. You need to give them something, that they simply cannot get anywhere else. I need to give you something.

Here is the first thing you are doing wrong with your email. This is easy. You know it already, you have just forgotten it.

You are talking to an idealised version of your customer. Not your customer. You are talking in product language. In marketing speak. You simply have forgotten that you are talking to a human being. You think they want to hear what you are saying. So you talk to them like that. Maybe they don’t.

So what do you do about that?

The easiest thing to do, is to imagine you are talking to your friend.

I know you are busy. So I’ll get straight to the point. The reason your emails are not successful is because you have forgotten that you are talking to a human being. Really it is as simple as that. You wouldn’t talk to your friends like this or a stranger. Your customers are not alien beings who only like to be spoken to in advertising language. Be a little bit real. And make it worth their while.

Stop talking to them like they are the dullest people on the planet. Let them see your personality.

Simple and as easy as that.
